This Food-Delivery Robot Wants to Share the Bike Lane

River Fork Farms envisions the future of microgreens home delivery service by neighborhood-cruising self-driving robots.  In addition to bike paths, imagine transportation routes which include ‘Bot paths’ where driverless UPS, Amazon Fresh, and Uber Eats vehicles efficiently speed onwards toward their destinations.

Refraction AI, founded by two researchers at the University of Michigan, joins a crowded field of self-driving delivery vehicles.

What’s Growing On?

The time has come for my dormant seed of an idea to germinate.  River Fork Farms has sprouted and is now more than just an idea.  Grow space has been secured at The Arguello Farm in North Bend, Washington where we are constructing vertical hydroponic flood and drain systems in a century-old, historic dairy barn.

Our first microgreen crops include Sunflower Greens, Radish, Pea Tendrils, and a Spicy Salad Mix.  Most of our crops are grown from organic, non-GMO seed.  We use pure Cascadian water, no pesticides, no fungicides or any other artificial agriculture products.

Soon we will be offering our microgreens to health-conscious consumers at local Farmers Markets and to executive chefs and sous-chefs at local restaurants.

River Fork Farms is being established as a brand for sustainably-grown microgreens, herbs, miniature vegetables, and edible flowers.  We are also exploring the possibility of launching a product line which includes vegan-friendly pasta, tortillas, cookies, snacks, and juices made from our superfood produce.
